The Speaker of Parliament, Jagath Wickramaratne, participated in the 28th Conference of Speakers and Presiding Officers of the Commonwealth. 

In a bilateral meeting, Indian Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla emphasized strengthening parliamentary ties through regular exchanges, friendship groups, and collaborative policymaking. 

Discussions also focused on advancing technological innovations like AI-enabled systems and multilingual translation, aiming to deepen India-Sri Lanka cooperation. 

Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to fostering strong people-to-people links, shared cultural heritage, and ongoing dialogue to bolster bilateral relations.
