A gazette notice has been issued to make all services related to electricity supply or distribution of petroleum products and fuel essential services.

On the instructions of President Ranil Wickramasinghe, the Presidential Secretary Saman Ekanayake issued the gazette announcement yesterday (5).

These services have been announced as essential services given that such services provided by any governmental body are essential to maintain the normal life of the people and that there may be an obstacle or obstruction to that service.
