Police inspected 27,430 individuals across the country yesterday (06) during routine search operations, resulting in the arrest of 524 suspects.

Among those detained, 14 were directly linked to criminal activities, while 309 warrant holders and 156 individuals with open warrants were also apprehended.

Traffic-related offences accounted for a significant portion of arrests, with 422 drivers detained for driving under the influence and 79 for reckless driving.

Legal action was taken against 4,826 individuals for other traffic violations.
