Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) proudly announced the upgrade of the Istanbul–Colombo route with the deployment of the state-of-the-art Airbus A350-900 aircraft.

This new wide-body aircraft represents a significant leap forward in passenger comfort, operational efficiency, and service excellence, enhancing the connectivity between Sri Lanka and Türkiye, and extending beyond.

“With this upgrade, a new chapter of seamless travel and world-class service begins today,” BIA stated, welcoming Turkish Airlines’ latest addition to its fleet at Colombo.

The Airbus A350-900 boasts advanced technology, improved fuel efficiency, and a superior onboard experience, further strengthening Sri Lanka’s position as a key aviation hub in the region and reinforcing ties between Colombo and Istanbul.
