The Department of Meteorology has issued a fresh advisory as a low-level atmospheric Fairly heavy falls above 50 mm are expected today in the Eastern province and the Nuwara-Eliya, Matale, Badulla, Polonnaruwa, and Mullaitivu districts.

Expect gusty winds up to 50 kmph across the Northern, North-Central, North-Western, and Eastern provinces, as well as in Hambantota, Gampaha, Colombo, and Monaragala.

Thunderstorms are likely in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Galle and Matara districts after 2:00 p.m.

Sea areas from Beruwala to Kankesanthurai (via Colombo and Puttalam) will be rough, with wind speeds potentially surging to 60 kmph.
