A group of Madel (seine net) fishermen has launched a Satyagraha campaign in front of the Presidential Secretariat, urging authorities to introduce a clear programme to safeguard their traditional fishing industry.

Secretary of the All Ceylon Madel Cooperative Association, R.A. Dilruk Fernando, stated that the protest will continue today and tomorrow, expressing hope that the issue will be resolved by Wednesday.
