Extensive police raids across the island resulted in the arrest of a total of 820 individuals yesterday (12) as part of the ‘Nation United – National Drive’ campaign aimed at combating drug abuse.

The operation targeted various aspects of drug trafficking and consumption, including disrupting supply chains, reducing demand, expanding enforcement efforts, rehabilitating addicts, and empowering communities through prevention programs.

During the raids, 250 operations focused on heroin resulted in the seizure of 331 grams of the drug. Simultaneously, 322 raids targeting “Ice” (crystal methamphetamine) led to the confiscation of 2 kilograms and 247 grams of the substance.

Cannabis seizures amounted to 25 kilograms and 565 grams.

Among those arrested, four individuals have been referred for rehabilitation, while detention orders have been obtained for 18 suspects, the police reported.
