Minister of Health and Mass Media,Nalinda Jayatissa, has assured the public that Sri Lanka’s fuel and electricity supplies will remain uninterrupted despite the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
Speaking to the media in Kalutara, the Minister acknowledged that global market fluctuations might lead to a slight increase in fuel prices.
He emphasised that this rise would not be fully transferred to consumers, as the Government’s Treasury is prepared to absorb a substantial portion of the additional costs.
Dr. Jayatissa also highlighted the government’s commitment to reducing the high fuel prices once the wartime situation stabilizes, aiming to provide relief to consumers as soon as conditions permit.
