The Department of Meteorology has issued a warm weather advisory for the Eastern Province and the Mullaitivu, Vavuniya and Monaragala districts, warning that the heat index is expected to reach the 'Caution Level' during the daytime tomorrow (17).

The Department said prolonged exposure to the sun and outdoor activity could cause fatigue, while continued exertion may lead to heat cramps.

The public has been advised to stay hydrated and limit strenuous outdoor activities during the hottest part of the day.
