The Department of Meteorology has forecast showers or thundershowers at times today(14) in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-Western provinces, as well as the Galle, Matara, Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts.

A few showers may also occur in the Mannar and Anuradhapura districts.

Strong winds of 40–50 kmph are expected at times over the western slopes of the central hills, the Northern and North Central provinces, and the Hambantota and Trincomalee districts. The public has been advised to take precautions against strong winds and lightning.
