Former SriLankan Airlines Chairman Nishantha Wickramasinghe was released on bail by the Colombo Magistrate’s Court following his arrest by the Bribery Commission (CIABOC).
Wickramasinghe is accused of unlawfully arranging over Rs. 2.8 million in fuel allowances for Civil Aviation Minister Piyankara Jayaratne between 2012 and 2014.
He was granted bail on two surety bonds of Rs. 5 million each and an overseas travel ban was imposed.
The next hearing is scheduled for 28 July, the Bribery Commission stated.
