State Minister Diana Gamage says that there is toothpaste manufactured using cannabis and that she was using such a toothpaste at the moment.

Gamage has made this statement during a recent press conference.

According to her, she has got the relevant toothpaste from overseas and there are many such products manufactured using cannabis in the overseas markets.

Gamage has been advocating the legalisation of cannabis cultivation as an export crop and it was finally included as a proposal in the 2023 Budget. She has further noted that cannabis cultivation should be seen as an industry. 

“I see cannabis cultivation as an industry that could also create hundreds and thousands of job opportunities. There are many products including cakes, biscuits, cosmetics, and other items that are being manufactured using cannabis,” Gamage has added.
