St. Joseph's College Colombo and Holy Family Girls’ School Wennappuwa clinched the boys and girls championships at 18th Blue and Gold Hockey Sevens at Reid Avenue on Sunday (13).

Joes defeated the much fancied St. Thomas' College Matale two-nil. While HFC Wennappuwa got the better of Ladies College in yet another two-nil affair. 

It was the first time both these teams reached the finals of this prestigious tournament while St. Joseph's tasted their maiden final.

A record number of 66 teams (42 boys’ & 24 girls’) teams participated in this festival of hockey which spanned for two days with more than 125 games being played.
