IndiGo Airlines has introduced daily direct flights connecting Tiruchirappalli, India, and Jaffna, Sri Lanka, enhancing regional air connectivity after 47 years.
Operated with a 78-seater ATR72 aircraft, the route aims to boost tourism, trade, and cultural ties between South India and Sri Lanka’s Northern Province.
The inaugural flight was marked by a ceremony attended by Indian Deputy Consul General Sai Murali.
IndiGo now operates 57 weekly flights to Sri Lanka from five Indian cities.
Tickets are available via the airline’s website and mobile app.
