Sri Lanka joined 148 nations in voting for a UN General Assembly resolution demanding an immediate, unconditional, and lasting ceasefire in Gaza, amid the worsening humanitarian crisis.
Adopted on 12 June, the resolution also calls for hostage releases, unrestricted aid access, the lifting of the Gaza blockade, and accountability for violations of international law.
The U.S., Israel, and 10 others voted against, while 19 countries, including India, abstained.
