Nimal Senadheera, the High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to the United Kingdom, formally presented his Letter of Credence to His Majesty King Charles III at a ceremonial event at Buckingham Palace this week (28 October).
The High Commissioner was escorted to the Palace in the traditional horse-drawn carriages of the Royal Mews, a distinguished diplomatic protocol.
During the audience, High Commissioner Senadheera conveyed warm felicitations from President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.
The discussion focused on the mutual desire to deepen and intensify the longstanding political, economic, and cultural relations between Sri Lanka and the UK, as well as with the Commonwealth.
The day concluded with a Vin D’honneur reception at Sri Lanka House for UK government representatives, Members of Parliament, the diplomatic corps, and the British Sri Lankan community.
