A person was injured in a shooting incident that took place on the Kolonnawa – Gothatuwa Road on 18 June night. 

Police revealed that two unidentified gunmen on a motorcycle had carried out the shooting at around 8.40 p.m. and had fled the scene.

The injured victim has been admitted to the Divisional Hospital, Thalangama, and was later transferred to the Colombo National Hospital.

The injured individual is identified as Gihan Madushanka alias “Raja” aged 41 years.

Wellampitiya Police is conducting further investigations regarding the incident.
