The Department of Meteorology has issued a warm weather advisory for tomorrow (22), warning of rising temperatures in several provinces and districts.

The Heat Index, which reflects the temperature felt on the human body, is expected to reach the ‘Caution Level’ in the Northern, North-Central, North-Western, Western, and Sabaragamuwa provinces, as well as in Galle, Matara, and Monaragala districts.

Accordingly, under this level, prolonged exposure may cause fatigue, and continued activity could lead to heat cramps.

The public is advised to stay hydrated, take breaks in shaded areas, limit strenuous outdoor activities, and check on vulnerable individuals. Wearing lightweight, light-coloured clothing and never leaving children unattended in vehicles are also recommended.
