The National People’s Power (NPP) has won the Weligama Urban Council in the Matara District with 5,318 votes and 9 seats.

Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) followed with 2,371 votes and secured 3 seats.

Two independent groups also gained 3 seats each, while the United National Party (UNP) claimed 1 seat.
