A 30-member delegation of Sri Lankan Government media officials recently completed a two-week special training program in India, from 17 to 30 August, 2025. 

The program, which was organized at the request of the Department of Government Information, was a follow-up to an offer made by Indian Prime Minister(PM) Narendra Modi.

Hosted by premier Indian institutions such as the Sushma Swaraj Institute of Foreign Service (SSIFS) and the Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC), the program included interactive sessions on public diplomacy, digital media, and press relations. 

The delegation, which included officials from the Prime Minister’s Media Division and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, also had the opportunity to learn about India's economic growth and technological advancements.
