A private bus overturned after colliding with a lorry near Jubilee Bullers Junction on Duplication Road in Bambalapitiya in the early hours of today (14).

According to eyewitness reports, the bus, which was en route from Colombo to Kataragama, was struck by a lorry coming from Thunmulla junction.

At the time of the accident, there were fifteen passengers aboard the bus. The collision resulted in injuries to two women and five men. The injured were rushed to the National Hospital of Sri Lanka (NHSL).

Police suspect that the bus driver may have ignored colour lights.
