Minister of Transport Bimal Rathnayake has announced that a new, small-scale service station is expected to be launched by the end of September at Udukawa, along the Southern Expressway.
The move addresses a long-standing concern among commuters, as the expressway currently has only one official service centre at Welipenna.
According to the Minister, the construction of additional service stations had been previously delayed due to concerns about the potential negative impact on private businesses operating near the expressway.
