The remains of renowned model Chulpadmendra Kumarapathirana have been taken to a private funeral parlour in Borella as police continue investigations into her sudden death.

Kumarapathirana, 45, was found dead on a bed at a businessman’s residence in Thumbowila, Piliyandala, on 31 August.

A post-mortem examination conducted at the Kalubowila Teaching Hospital returned an open verdict, with no external or internal injuries found on her body.

Samples have been sent to the Government Analyst for further examination as part of the ongoing investigation.

Police stated that the exact cause and circumstances of her death have not yet been established.
