Contributions to the government’s ‘Rebuilding Sri Lanka’ Fund have exceeded Rs. 8.5 billion, Finance Ministry Secretary Dr. Harshana Suriyapperuma stated.
The fund was set up to support reconstruction following Cyclone ‘Ditwah’.
Foreign assistance has crossed USD 9.49 million, with the United States contributing over Rs. 1 billion.
Australia, China, the United Kingdom, Germany, Canada, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bhutan, Italy and South Korea are among the top foreign donors.
A total of 47 countries have provided financial support.
Goods valued at over Rs. 2.3 billion have also been received through Sri Lanka Customs.
