The Department of Meteorology has forecast afternoon thundershowers in most parts of Sri Lanka today (13).

Heavy rainfall of around 100 mm is possible in some areas of the North Central, Central, Sabaragamuwa, Western and North Western provinces.

A few showers are also expected in the Western Province and Galle and Matara districts during the morning.

The public has been advised to take precautions against strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
