Health authorities raised serious concerns over the increasing spread of both chikungunya and dengue fever, as the monsoon season intensifies mosquito breeding.

According to health officials, this poses a major threat to public health as both diseases are transmitted by the same mosquito. 

Authorities also noted that treatment for chikungunya could be life-threatening if mistakenly given to a dengue patient, stressing the importance of proper medical diagnosis, especially for those experiencing persistent fever and related symptoms.

Accordingly, the public is strongly urged to seek immediate medical attention rather than self-medicating, to ensure timely and accurate treatment.
