Sydney event pays tribute to fallen Sri Lankan war heroes

The Society for Peace, Unity and Human Rights (SPUR NSW) held its 17th annual Ranaviru commemoration on 24 May at the Sinhala Cultural Centre in Sydney.


The event honoured Sri Lankan military personnel who sacrificed their lives during the 30 year conflict.


Religious observances, speeches and tributes were held during the commemoration, attended by members of the Sri Lankan community and former military officials.


Former Sri Lanka Navy Commander Thisara Samarasinghe and Defence Attaché Captain Saranga addressed the gathering, highlighting the importance of remembering fallen soldiers and preserving national unity and peace.
