Sri Lanka is set to receive 104 new Metro buses in August as part of efforts to modernise and improve the country's public transport service.
The buses, manufactured by China's FOTON International Corporation, will arrive under an agreement signed in May, with a Sri Lankan delegation having inspected the vehicles and reviewed modifications to suit local road conditions.
Construction of Metro service depots in Kadawatha and Ratmalana is also being expedited ahead of the launch of the new bus fleet.
