The Office on Missing Persons has completed preliminary investigations into 6,700 of the 16,700 enforced disappearance cases in Sri Lanka.

The Chairman Mahesh Katulanda stated that no such cases were reported in the past five years and that inquiries into another 10,000 cases are underway to expedite justice for victims.
