Centennial Nalanda Dinner Dance – Maroons’ Nite’25

The Old Nalandians’ Sports Club (ONSC) successfully hosted the event launch, media briefing, and sponsor reveal of the Centennial Nalanda Dinner Dance – Maroons’ Nite 2025 at Hilton Colombo on 9 October. 

The event was attended by over 75 distinguished guests, including past Nalandians, sponsors, and well-wishers.

Principal Iran Champika Silva outlined the vision of Nalanda’s Centenary Programme, highlighting the establishment of a state-of-the-art Innovation Centre and a modern Sports Complex within the College premises.

Addressing the gathering, ONSC President Dinuka Chandraratne, reflected on the Club’s six-decade legacy in supporting sports and infrastructure development at Nalanda College. 

He emphasised that proceeds from Maroons’ Nite 2025 will be directed towards the Centenary Sports Complex and the construction of an alternative practice ground for football, rugby, hockey, and archery. 

Chandraratne also extended his appreciation to the 42 sponsors who have already pledged their support for this historic project.

During the ceremony, the first official tickets were ceremonially presented to, former Ceylon Cricketer and ONSC Past President Jayantha Seneviratne, Sampath Bank COO Deepal De Silva. 

The event also featured the formal reveal of all 42 sponsors through the handing over of sponsor placards.

A Special Appreciation Award was presented to Imagine Entertainment Chairperson Sajith Kodikara , in recognition of his outstanding and long-standing contributions to Nalanda College and ONSC.

The much-anticipated Centennial Nalanda Dinner Dance – Maroons’ Nite 2025 will be held on 8 November, at Hilton Colombo, featuring a sold-out crowd of 500 guests. 

The evening will unfold from cocktails to breakfast, with an electrifying line up of entertainment featuring Redeemers and Daddy, alongside special Latin dance performances by Kevin Nugara.

Speaking at the event, Dinuka Chandraratne noted, ”This celebration is not just about honoring 100 years of Nalanda’s excellence, but also about empowering the next century of sports and talent development at our beloved alma mater.”

The evening concluded with a fellowship reception hosted by the Official Hospitality Partner – Hilton Colombo, marking another proud milestone as Nalanda College celebrates its 100th Year in 2025.
