The Colombo Fort Magistrate’s Court today (29) ordered that the corruption case filed against former President Ranil Wickremesinghe be called again on 28 January, 2026.

The case, filed by the Bribery Commission, marks the first instance of a Sri Lankan Executive President being arrested and remanded over corruption allegations.

Wickremesinghe appeared in court this afternoon as per summons, and following submissions, the Magistrate scheduled the case for further proceedings early next year.
