The Sri Lanka Computer Emergency Readiness Team (SLCERT) has reported a rise in financial fraud involving individuals falsely claiming to sell goods online.
Chief Information Security Engineer Nirosh Ananda urged the public to verify the authenticity of sellers and obtain reliable information before making online purchases. He also warned of recent complaints related to fraudulent schemes exploiting disaster relief and financial assistance claims.
SLCERT has advised the public to remain alert and exercise caution when buying or selling goods online.
