The Supreme Court has dismissed an appeal filed by former Minister Wimal Weerawansa, upholding an order to pay Rs. 1 million in compensation to JVP General Secretary Tilvin Silva.

The case relates to a ruling by the Colombo Commercial High Court that content published in Weerawansa's book Naththa Wenuwata Aththa infringed Silva's intellectual property rights.

With the appeal dismissed, the Commercial High Court's compensation order remains in effect.
