Sri Lanka has opened its first Honorary Consulate in the Philippines, in Davao City, to strengthen bilateral ties and improve access to consular services in Mindanao.

Foreign Minister Vijitha Herath inaugurated the consulate during a ceremony held as Sri Lanka and the Philippines mark 65 years of diplomatic relations.
