The Cabinet of Ministers granted approval to the appointment of R.A. Chandana Saman Ranaweera Arachchi as the new Commissioner General of Lands. 

Prior to this appointment, the special grade officer in the Sri Lanka Administrative Service was serving as Additional Secretary (Administration) in the Ministry of Public Administration. 

The position was previously held by D.D.K. Wickramaarachchi, who was appointed the Acting Commissioner General of Lands on 12 December 2024.
