President Anura Kumara Dissanayake today launched the third phase of the Myliddy Fishery Harbour development project in Jaffna, emphasising his government's commitment to supporting the fishing community.

The President stated that the government's priority is to build peace and prevent any future conflicts, unlike past administrations that planned for war.

As part of this effort, he pledged that all lands in the North that were taken by security forces and can be released will be returned to the people.

He also assured that Sri Lanka's seas and islands will be protected from any external influence.

The Myliddy project, for which Rs. 298 million has been allocated this year, will provide essential facilities such as water, electricity, fuel, cold storage, and auction halls for fishing communities in both the North and other provinces.
