Rainy conditions will continue across Northern and Eastern provinces today (14) due to a low-level atmospheric disturbance, the Department of Meteorology reports.

Showers may occur at times in Northern, North-central, Eastern, and Uva provinces, and in Hambantota district. 

Other areas will experience showers or thundershowers after one p.m.

The department forecasts fairly heavy rainfall, exceeding 75 mm, in places across Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Southern, and Uva provinces, as well as Ampara and Batticaloa districts. 

The public is advised to take precautions against strong winds and lightning.
