The Colombo Permanent Trial-at-Bar today (31) sentenced former Inspector General of Police Pujith Jayasundara to death in connection with the case over the failure to prevent the 2019 Easter Sunday attacks.

The case was filed by the Attorney General against former Defence Secretary Hemasiri Fernando and former IGP Pujith Jayasundara over alleged failure to act on intelligence information received before the attacks.
