An overseas travel ban has been imposed by the Court on former State Minister Prasanna Ranaweera and two others, who were absconding in connection with a case.

Former minister Mervyn Silva and two others have been ordered to be remanded further until 3 April after they were produced before the Mahara Magistrate’s Court in connection with the above case.

Silva was arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department on 5 March for allegedly selling State-owned land to a private party after forging documents.
