Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has named a 16-member Sri Lanka squad, captained by Dhananjaya de Silva, for the two-match Test series against New Zealand.
The Test series is scheduled to commence tomorrow (18), and continue through the 2024 Presidential Election slated to be held on 21 September.
The second and final Test of the series is scheduled to be played from 26-30 September, also at the same venue.
Hosts Sri Lanka will look to win their first red-ball series against the tourists since 2009, while the Black Caps will seek to break a 40-year hoodoo on Lankan soil, having last won a Test series in the 1983-84 season. New Zealand will be led on tour by experienced pacer Tim Southee.
