Two suspects allegedly involved in a series of thefts, including motorcycles, copper wires and mobile phones, have been arrested by Katunayake Police.

Police stated that one suspect was arrested while allegedly dismantling a motorcycle in the Andiambalama area. During the search, 11.2 grammes of heroin were also recovered from his possession.

The motorcycle had allegedly been stolen from Veyangoda on 8 September. A second suspect was later arrested in Seeduwa for allegedly aiding the theft.

The suspects, aged 22 and 25, are residents of Andiambalama and Seeduwa. Further investigations have revealed information regarding two copper wire thefts, a mobile phone theft in Katunayake and another motorcycle theft in Seeduwa.
