Member of Parliament Namal Rajapaksa stated that investigations into the 2019 Easter Sunday attacks in Sri Lanka should not be diverted towards political rivalries or geopolitical agendas.

He noted that a fair, transparent and impartial inquiry is required to identify and punish those responsible for the attacks.

Rajapaksa also commented on the detention of Suresh Sallay, stating that concerns have been raised over the direction of the investigation.
