Sri Lanka has been rated the most affordable country for foreign retirees in 2026, according to the International Living Annual Global Retirement Index.

The ranking highlights low costs for food, transport, and healthcare, as well as easy and affordable retirement visa options.

Vietnam, Thailand, Bali, and Malaysia complete the top five most affordable destinations.

International Living noted Sri Lanka’s 13 UNESCO heritage sites, beaches, and culture make it possible to live well without high expenses.
