The Department of Meteorology has forecast showers across the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Southern, and North-western provinces.

Heavy rainfall of about 100 mm is likely in Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Nuwara-Eliya, Kandy, Galle, Matara, and Puttalam districts.

Several spells of rain may also occur in the Northern Province and Anuradhapura.

Strong winds between 50–60 kmph are expected in the Northern, North-central, Sabaragamuwa, North-western, Southern provinces, the Western slopes of the central hills, and Trincomalee.

The public is advised to take precautions against potential damage from localised strong winds.
