The National Building Research Organisation(NBRO) has issued six recommendations to reduce landslide risk along the Mahagiri Damba section of the Hatton access route to the Sri Pada pilgrimage site. 

The guidance was submitted to the District Secretaries of Ratnapura and Nuwara Eliya following an inspection of the affected area. 

The NBRO advised restricting access through the unstable zone until the measures are implemented. 

It also urged officials to ensure proper night-time illumination and to closely monitor changes in the terrain.
