Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) yesterday (11) informed the public via a media release that National Men's T20I Captain Wanidu Hasaranga has decided to resign from the captaincy.

According to the SLC Hasaranga has said that his decision has been in the best interest of Sri Lanka Cricket that he decided to relinquish the captaincy duties and remain in the team as a player.

The SLC also added in the release that while accepting Hasaranga's resignation it wishes to state that Hasaranga will remain an important player for them in their international cricketing plans.
