Sri Lankan citizens will now be eligible for a free 90-day on-arrival tourist visa when visiting the Maldives, starting 29 July 2025. The announcement was made during President Anura Kumara Dissanayake’s official visit to the island nation.
To obtain the visa, travellers must present a valid passport and proof of sufficient funds for their stay. The initiative aligns with an agreement between the two Governments and reflects their growing bilateral cooperation.
Maldivian authorities described the move as a gesture of goodwill and highlighted the continued strengthening of ties between Sri Lanka and the Maldives.
