The highest rainfall recorded over the past few hours was 104 mm in Maliboda, Kegalle District, according to the Department of Meteorology.

Kalupahana in Kegalle recorded 95.5 mm, while Maskeliya in Nuwara-Eliya recorded 85.5 mm.

Polpithigama in Kurunegala recorded 85 mm, while Dammulla in Ratnapura received 82.5 mm.

The Met Department warned that fairly heavy rainfall of around 100 mm is possible in some areas amid active South-West Monsoon conditions.
