Minister of Public Security Ananda Wijepala told Parliament today (7) that investigations have uncovered information suggesting that Pulasthini Mahendran, also known as Sarah Jasmine and connected to the 2019 Easter attacks, is still alive.

The Minister stated that there is currently no evidence to indicate that Sarah Jasmine is in India. He also emphasized that the Government is prepared to seek a warrant for her arrest if necessary.

Minister Wijepala confirmed that investigations into the Easter attacks remain ongoing, with legal actions already initiated based on the new information. 

He mentioned that the current government is examining whether there was a conspiracy behind the attacks, describing the inquiry as comprehensive. 

He noted that certain details could not be disclosed in Parliament as they might impede the progress of the investigations
