Shyamila Perera has been arrested by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC).

CIABOC said the arrest is linked to alleged corruption during her tenure as Chairperson of the National Lotteries Board.

The allegations relate to assigning three National Lotteries Board employees to work in the office of former minister Ravi Karunanayake instead of the state institution.
